Grip

The wrong grip can affect the way you play and can lead to injuries such as tennis elbow.

Children            4 1/8"

Children            4 1/4"

Women             4 3/8"

Men                   4 1/2"

Men                   4 5/8"

One of the ways to find your grip size is to measure the length between the tip of the ring finger and your lifeline.

Racket Weight

A tennis racket that is too heavy can cause damage and lessen your achievements.

Light rackets        225g to 280g

Medium power   280g to 300g

Heavy rackets    300g to 340g

Usually more power will be generated from the bigger headsizes. These are ideal for learners.

The experts will use a smaller headsize. These ones produce power in the swing.

Balance

Baseline players like head heavy rackets.

Head heavy - These have big swings and have a great deal of power.

Headlight - Net players favor headlight rackets. This allows them to advance quickly to the net.
